Da Nang

Central Vietnams beach city — My Khe sand, the Marble Mountains and Hoi An next door.

About Da Nang

Da Nang is a story of water, marble and light. Its dramatic Marble Mountains rise out of the flat plain, hiding ancient caves and secret Buddhist temples within them, and look straight out over a strip of soft white sand that stretches to the horizon — the meeting of the guardian mountain and the endless ocean. The wide river that cuts through the city turns every evening into a mesmerising light show thanks to bold architectural bridges, led by the golden Dragon breathing fire and water over the calm current — the bridges that whisper to the night. Above it all reigns a spiritual calm set against a modern pulse: the soothing presence of the huge white Buddha statue watching over the bay from the peak of the green mountain, against the dynamic, cutting-edge skyline of one of the most exciting, fast-developing cities in Asia. And at the base of it all, the white sand meets ancient tradition: the perfect contrast between designed luxury resorts offering total seclusion on the waterline, and the traditional basket-shaped fishing boats still bobbing on the water in the early morning hours. At SherryStay we understand that Da Nang is a delicate balance of extremes: we have picked only the places to stay that set you at exactly that meeting point — between the mountain and the sea, between spiritual calm and the energy of the city, and between the white sand and the tradition that still breathes within it.

Sherry's Take

Stay along My Khe / Non Nuoc Beach for sand on your doorstep, or near the Han River for nightlife and food. Hoi An ancient town is only ~40 minutes away — go at dusk for the lanterns. See the Golden Bridge (Ba Na Hills) early to beat crowds.

Money-Saving Tips

  • 1Eat mì Quảng and bánh xèo at local quán for a dollar or two versus resort menus.
  • 2Grab bikes/cars are cheap; a scooter rental is the local way to reach Hoi An.
  • 3The Dragon Bridge fire-and-water show (weekends, 9pm) is free.

当地交通

  • 1Da Nang (DAD) international airport is ~10 min from the centre — very close.
  • 2Grab (ride-hailing) is cheap and easy across the city and to Hoi An.
  • 3Hire a scooter or private car for the Marble Mountains and Ba Na Hills.

Most Common Mistake

Only doing Ba Na Hills/Golden Bridge in a rushed midday tour — go early, and leave real time for Hoi An, which many travellers love more than the city.
