A guide to football hotels around the world: club-owned properties, rooms dedicated to legendary players, and the single room built inside a stadium. With city, country, and exactly what you can book.

In short
14 places where football is part of the hospitality itself, not a hotel that happens to be near a stadium.
Three families: club-owned hotels (Juventus, Benfica, Gremio), rooms dedicated to a legendary player, and sports hotels for a child who simply loves football.
The room inside Parc des Princes is real, but it cannot be booked: it is auctioned to ALL loyalty members, one experience per season.
Amari Buriram United in Thailand is under renovation and is due to reopen around October 2026.
At SherryStay.com, this is exactly what we went looking for. Some holidays are built around going to see a football match. Others are built around sleeping inside football itself.
We were not looking for hotels that happen to sit near a stadium. We were looking for places where football is genuinely part of the stay: a hotel a club actually owns, rooms designed around legendary players, and places where a child goes to sleep with the team they love on the walls.
For every entry here we checked what exactly can be booked and what cannot, because in this category the gap between the two is unusually wide.
What exactly is special: A hotel born out of Manchester United’s Class of ’92, with seven rooms dedicated to players and a football pitch on the roof.
The hotel sits opposite Old Trafford and opened in 2015 on the initiative of the Class of ’92, the group of players that included Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville.
Of its 133 rooms, seven are Class of ’92 rooms: each holds a player’s personal memorabilia, signed shirts and Champions League medals. On the roof there is a football pitch called Heaven, and downstairs the Cafe Football restaurant.
This is the place that turns a matchday into a whole holiday, instead of going back to an ordinary city hotel afterwards.
What exactly is special: The first hotel in Italy owned by a football club, with a wing reserved for the first team.
J|Hotel is not a hotel designed around football. It is the first hotel in Italy owned by a football club, a joint venture between Juventus and the Lindbergh Hotels group.
It sits at the heart of J Village, about 800 metres from the Allianz Stadium and beside the training centre and J Medical. It has 138 rooms, and an entire wing is reserved for the first-team squad.
For a Juventus supporter this is not a stay near the club. You can combine it with a match, the Juventus Museum and a stadium tour.
What exactly is special: Opened in January 2026 in the building that served as the club’s headquarters from 1934; 56 rooms, each a small museum of an era in Benfica’s history.
The building on Largo do Regedor served as the headquarters of Sport Lisboa e Benfica from 1934, and was the centre of the club’s social life for decades.
The hotel opened officially in January 2026 with 56 rooms. Each room is devoted to a different period in the club’s story, and the shared spaces are dedicated to its legends.
That is the difference between a hotel near football and a hotel that is itself a chapter in the club’s history.
What exactly is special: Two hotels facing each other, one for each side of the city: Liverpool and Everton.
The Shankly Hotel tells the story of Bill Shankly and holds a genuine memorabilia collection: personal items, trophies, and even his original Liverpool playing contract.
Directly opposite stands The Dixie Dean Hotel, dedicated to the Everton legend. The two are marketed together as the world’s first Football Quarter.
That lets you build a holiday telling a child both identities of one of Europe’s most important football cities, without leaving the centre.
What exactly is special: Located inside the stadium grounds themselves, so the hotel, the tour and the museum are all in one place.
The advantage here is the location: the hotel sits within the grounds of Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea, in Fulham in west London.
Note the name. The Ascott group has taken over management of the hotels on the site and is Chelsea’s official hotel partner, and the property is transitioning to the lyf brand under the name lyf Chelsea London. You may find it listed under either name.
For a child whose blue shirt is already packed, this is the place you never have to travel from.
What exactly is special: One brand, five hotels open; Paris is planned for 2027.
Pestana CR7 is a partnership between the Pestana Group and Cristiano Ronaldo, and in 2026 it marks a decade. It is one brand, not five separate ideas.
The hotels open right now: Funchal in Madeira, Lisbon, Madrid (Gran Via), Marrakech and Times Square in New York. A sixth hotel is planned to open in Paris in 2027.
For a Ronaldo fan I would choose Funchal: it is his birthplace, and the brand’s first hotel opened there.
What exactly is special: One concept: eight rooms around the world, each dedicated to a different PSG player.
PSG and Novotel created eight Legendary Rooms in eight cities, each dedicated to a different player from the club’s history, with bespoke design and memorabilia.
The spread: Jakarta (Javier Pastore), Shanghai (Nicolas Anelka), Abidjan (Bonaventure Kalou), Valencia (Alain Roche), London (Claude Makelele), Miami (Blaise Matuidi), Sao Paulo (Rai) and Riyadh (Pedro Miguel Pauleta).
Here you can choose a holiday by the legend your child loves rather than only by the city. Note: the card below is the host hotel in London, and the room itself is a specific room type whose availability is worth confirming.
What exactly is special: The official hotel of Gremio and Brazil’s first football-themed hotel, with a rooftop bar holding a club museum.
This is not a hotel that is merely associated with the club. It is the official hotel of Gremio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense and the first in Brazil built around a football theme, with 144 rooms.
On the roof is The Fortim bar, dedicated to the club and including a small museum and a view over the city. The neighbourhood, Moinhos de Vento, is one of the most pleasant in Porto Alegre.
Here I would combine the stay with a visit to the Arena do Gremio and a match, if the fixture list allows.
What exactly is special: Thailand’s first football-themed hotel, partnered with Buriram United since 2013, right beside the Chang Arena.
If you thought Thailand was only Bangkok, Phuket and Koh Samui, Buriram in the Isan region of the north-east is a genuine surprise.
The hotel opened as Thailand’s first football hotel in partnership with Buriram United FC in 2013, and has 60 rooms, many with balconies facing the stadium grounds. It sits next to the Chang Arena, nicknamed Thunder Castle, and close to the Chang International Circuit.
Worth knowing before you book: the hotel underwent an extensive renovation through 2026 and its reopening is expected around October 2026. Confirm the dates before booking flights.
What exactly is special: Dedicated rooms in Orlando Pirates’ black and white, with a mural of former players and memorabilia.
Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! by Marriott at Melrose Arch created dedicated Orlando Pirates rooms with the club, launched in 2023.
The rooms were designed by local designer Latoyah Mei in the club’s colours, black and white, with a mural of legendary players and football memorabilia. A further Orlando Pirates room has since opened in Cape Town.
It also shows that the football-room trend is no longer limited to Europe.
What exactly is special: A family sports hotel with dedicated football rooms, a water park and facilities for children.
There is a difference between a child who supports a particular club and a child who is simply mad about football. For the second, a sports hotel can be even more fun than a club hotel.
Magic Sports is a four-star hotel in the Magic World resort (formerly Marina d’Or), with sports-themed rooms: football, basketball, tennis and Formula 1. The football rooms carry names like Gooooal and Golden Goal.
The family concept includes a water park and facilities, so the child enjoys every day and not only matchday.
12. Tanjong Subang Jaya, Malaysia’s football hotel

What exactly is special: Malaysia’s first football-themed hotel, created by the Football Association of Selangor.
Another place almost nobody expects to find on this list. Tanjong Subang Jaya is Malaysia’s first football-themed hotel, created by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS).
It has 40 rooms, a gym and a cafeteria, and sits inside the 3K sports complex. The association’s own offices are in the hotel, and the name comes from Selangor’s state flower.
Subang Jaya is in the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area, so it slots easily into a family trip around Malaysia.
What exactly is special: A small hotel whose design is dedicated to the Portugal national team, with rooms named after players.
Here the concept is not built around Ronaldo but around Portuguese football in general and the national team in particular, and the rooms are named after the country’s greatest players.
The hotel is small and less commercial than most of this list, with a heated outdoor pool and a wellness centre. Setubal is about 40 kilometres south of Lisbon.
This is one I would keep for a family that wants a Portuguese holiday with a football touch, without building the whole trip around it.
What exactly is special: The world’s first permanent hotel room inside a football stadium, but allocated by auction rather than by booking.
This is the hardest one to compete with, which is exactly why it is worth being precise about it. Accor and PSG presented La Suite Novotel as the world’s first permanent hotel room built inside a football stadium, right inside Parc des Princes: a 160 cm bed, a bathroom, a minibar and a private balcony facing the pitch.
But you cannot simply book it. Access is allocated through an auction reserved for members of the ALL loyalty programme, and it is one experience per PSG season. The experience includes VIP entry through the players’ tunnel, dining in the room during the match, breakfast and a private stadium tour the following morning.
What you can book: Novotel Paris Suresnes Longchamp, the hotel the experience itself departs from, a short drive from the stadium.
If you are planning a football holiday, check the fixture list before you book flights. A football hotel is an excellent experience even without a match, but the combination of hotel, match, stadium tour and club museum is what a child does not forget.
Frequently asked questions
Can you really sleep inside a football stadium?
There is one such room in the world, inside Parc des Princes in Paris, and Accor presents it as the first permanent hotel room built inside a football stadium. But it cannot be booked normally: it is allocated by auction to members of the ALL loyalty programme, and it is one experience per season. Other hotels on this list do sit within stadium grounds and can be booked as usual.
What is the difference between a club hotel and a football-themed hotel?
A club hotel is owned by the club or run in an official partnership with it, and usually sits inside or beside the stadium complex, for example Juventus’ J|Hotel or the 1904 Benfica Hotel in Lisbon. A football-themed hotel is an independent hotel whose design is devoted to football, with no ownership link. Both can be excellent, but only the first gives the feeling of stepping into the club’s world.
What suits a child who loves football but does not support one club?
A general sports hotel will usually work better than a club hotel. Magic Sports in Oropesa del Mar in Spain has dedicated football rooms alongside other sports rooms, a water park and family facilities, so the child enjoys every day rather than only matchday.
Do you need a match ticket to enjoy a football hotel?
No. Most hotels on this list offer a complete experience without a match: a club museum, a stadium tour, and memorabilia in the rooms and public spaces. If you do want a match, check the fixture list before booking flights, because kick-off times in European leagues change at short notice for television.
