A remote hotel needs a different kind of planning. At a city hotel, arriving at 10:30 pm instead of 8:00 pm is usually survivable. At a boat-access hotel it can rewrite the trip.
Check the last boat before you book the flight, not after. Some properties run only a handful of scheduled transfers a day, and Klahoose, for example, departs Lund once, at 3:00 pm.
Find out whether the boat is included. Transfer available and transfer included are different sentences, and a private transfer can be a significant line item.
Send the property your flight details. A remote hotel is often coordinating a car, a pier, a boat and your luggage as one chain.
Build in weather flexibility, and accept the other side of seclusion: if you decide at 11 pm that you want to go into town, there may be no town and no boat. Bring medication, chargers and anything hard to replace, because a resort with no road cannot solve a forgotten item in ten minutes.
