- 1A family riad in the medina is cheaper than a "Western" hotel — and far prettier.
- 2The CTM bus from Fez/Tangier — comfortable, air-conditioned and very cheap vs a private transfer.
- 3Street food around the square — local tagine for a third of the tourist-restaurant price.
Getting Around
- 1No train to Chefchaouen — CTM bus from Tangier (~2h) or Fez (~4h).
- 2In the medina everything is on foot (and steps — comfortable shoes).
- 3To the Akchour waterfalls — a shared taxi, 45 minutes.
Most Common Mistake
A two-hour photo stop on the way between Fez and Tangier. Chefchaouen at midday is crowded and flat — its magic is morning and evening, and you need to sleep over to meet it.
